A Brief
History

(Non-revisionist)

of Jacob Ryan Smith

I’ve been performing since I was a boy— I started writing music when I was only seven years old, messing around at our family’s piano. Once it came time to actually share those songs, I learned that a love of singing and performing was deep inside of me. I start training, attending camps like Interlochen Center for the Arts to hone my skills and eventually attended the University of Michigan where I graduated with my BFA in Musical Theater… into a pandemic (great timing, I know). I spent that time honing my songwriting craft until the world opened back up and finally I was able to get back on the stage. I moved to New York and started hitting the ground running, performing in concerts, workshops, regional, off-broadway theater and more. It really comes down to loving stories in all their multitudes and wanting to be a part of them in every way I can be. So glad you’re here to see what I can do, and I hope we get the chance to work together soon!
